Tomaso Veneroso is a New York-based chief executive, business leader, and innovation specialist, currently serving as the president and CEO of Am Cast, Inc. In this role, Veneroso is merging the Internet of Things (IoT) with the mining industry, ushering in a next generation of capabilities based on in-field networked connectivity, remote sensors for resiliency, and highly adaptable digital equipment controls. Since arriving at Am Cast in 1999, Tomaso has led a dramatic first-year turn around of the company, built out operations and production capabilities, and extended market reach with a comprehensive logistics plan.
Though promotional efforts, maintaining a focus on the customer, and driving industry awareness, Tomaso has established Am Cast as a mining technology leader, and solidified its reputation as the top global supplier for magnesium and ceramic insert replacement parts. The 2015 North American launch of the “Rocky Crusher” generated considerable attention for this sustainable and eco-friendly solution to the processing of waste rock into a wide range of sand grades, all with a single machine. This work, along with the combined efforts of a world-class staff, has enabled Veneroso to post impressive results for Am Cast that include a 300% increase in revenue over three years, and a 25% jump in YoY sales for FY 2015.
Throughout his career, first in Italy and then the United States, Tomaso has provided leadership support to a range of professional associations, and has worked tirelessly to advance the U.S.-based Italian business community. He is the Co-founder of GIPI (Group of Italian Professionals and Entrepreneurs Abroad) and the U.S. Chapter president of the Confederation of Italian Entrepreneurs Worldwide. In 2010, Tomaso was honoured by the President of Italy with the “Cavaliere, Ordine della Stella della Solidarieta’ Italiana”, an award recognizing his significant volunteer contributions. As a thought leader, Tomaso is featured as a regular speaker and presenter for events centered on global business, as well as innovation and technology in the mining industry.
Veneroso holds a Master in International Affairs (MIA) from Columbia University, and a B.S. in Accounting from C.W. Post Long Island University. He was selected by Columbia University to assist in teaching Quantitative Methods I and II, from 2010 to 2014. Outside of his professional life, Tomaso trains as an avid MMA practitioner and spends as much time as possible on the water—as a motorboat owner, crewing for regattas around the Northeast, and as a dedicated member of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary.
